New data shows that 26% of social media managers say human and financial resources are their biggest hurdles.

And by that, of course, they mean that there is not enough of it either.

A total of 344 social media managers responded to the survey conducted by researchers at Manifest, a site launched by Clutch. Human and financial resources have been identified as the main challenges.

The Main Challenges of Social Media Marketing

Other challenges included the lack of a formal strategy (24%) and the inability to create a sequel (24%). Results monitoring was also identified as a major challenge by 17% of respondents.

Previous research has shown that 52 percent of small businesses say that social media has helped increase their business.

According to both surveys, small businesses clearly see the benefits of social media and want to do more. So, they are left with two choices:

Investing More in Social Media Marketing

Consider the results of this survey and address the key challenge faced by social media managers. Invest more money in social marketing. But do not just throw more money into a situation and expect it to work.

Do not ignore the other challenges, namely the lack of plan. Before spending money, determine how it will be spent – and how will you know what your returns are? How can you track the results?

Strategies of Scale

If you can not invest more in social media, be smart with the money that is invested now. Avoid the challenges faced by so many social media professionals. Do not create strategies that require too much people or too much money. These costs could negate the benefits.

If your social media strategy has worked up to now, consider subtle changes. However, if you think there are more sales to be made through a larger presence on social media, consider the results of this survey. It will take money and people to do it.
